1st Workshop on Oceans
The Portuguese Academy of Engineering and the Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften (Berlin-Brandenburg Academie of Sciences) will be organizing jointly a series of three workshops on the general subject of Oceans.

Second International Seminar on Prediction of Earthquakes
Evocating the 110th anniversary of the Benavente (Lower Tagus) 1909 earthquake and on behalf of the Portuguese Academics, the Portuguese Academy of Engineering organized the "2nd International Seminar on Prediction of Earthquakes" at Lisbon, in April 29-30, 2009 This International Seminar was an excellent opportunity to bring together international research and development to share the knowledge and the latest achievements and practices in Earthquake Prediction.

Academy of Engineering Prize
In order to award engineering profesionals and public or privates institutions that, within the scientific and technological fields, contributed excepcionally for the progress, prestige and affirmation of Portuguese engineering, the Portuguese Academy of Engineering created the "Academy of Engineering Prize".
